“Green Tea Bags!"
Dermatologist Andrea Kunin, M.D., coauthor of The DERMAdoctor Skinstruction Manual, says green tea contains an anti-inflammatory, called EGCG, that reduces the fluid build-up that causes Under Eye Circles, also known as Under Eye Bags, Under Eye Dark Circles, or Under Eye Wrinkles.
“Brew two bags, let cool, then use as a compress for 10 minutes,” says Dr. Kunin. To increase the “depuffing” effect, use caffeinated, she adds.“
Just to add my 2 cents, most grocery store bought green tea bags are of much lower quality ( Loose-Leaf Green Tea Compared to Store Bought Green Tea ) and probably have very little of the catechin, EGCG. For maximum benefit, I recommend you buy the green tea in loose-leaf form and place the green tea leaves in a separate non-bleached green tea bag. Higher quality green tea is often purchased from an online green tea store, such as Relax, Sip & Enjoy. The higher quality green tea has much more of the catechin, EGCG, which not only helps with Under Eye Circles, Bags and Puffiness, but also can be consumed to give you all the antioxidant properties of green tea.
Buy quality green tea, drink two or three infusions of the green tea for its health benefits, and then use as a compress when cooled to help with Under Eye Circles, Bags, Puffiness, and possibly wrinkles.
